Alone I sit in a dark corner of the room,
In silent seclusion from the rest of the world.
Quiet; absolute and ever-present, it lays heavily over me.
It envelops me like fog, swallowing me whole.
I lose myself in it, in thought; deep contemplation.
The world, I think, is separate from me and I from it.
Its events have nothing to do with me,
I am independent of the murder, starvation, theft and rape.
I am independent of the love, laughter, happiness and trust.
I am indifferent to it.
It is nothing to me.
It happens and there is naught to do but observe.
I am nothing but a fly on the wall,
I am an invisible entity looking in,but not interfering
